Welcome
|
Morning Star Baptist Church is committed to showing our community how Jesus
Christ came into this world to save sinners. It is our desire to help those who
have never established a personal relationship with Christ to know the
satisfaction that only Christ can give.
Our church is a growing church and it's our desire to have our own
church building soon. Please pray with us that God will provide our
church the funds to start building. In 2006, we acquired 14+ acres of land
on I-75 located in West Chester, Ohio.

Nehemiah’s Passion
05/04/2008
The Two Blades (13 of 13)
The spiritual leaders today are Seeker-Sensitive and Saviour-Calloused; they are more concerned about being politically correct than being Biblically correct. We desperately need some godly leaders today with the grit and passion of ole’ Nehemiah. “And I contended with them, and cursed them, and smote certain of them, and plucked off their hair, and made them swear by God, saying, Ye shall not give your daughters unto their sons, nor take their daughters unto to your sons, or for yourselves.” Nehemiah 13:25 As we consider Nehemiah in chapter thirteen, we see that when he confronted the pagan worldly Jews he was a little passionate. Their lack of separation led to the abandoning of the temple service, and this doomed future success. The road to carnality is a gradual decline. It begins with a lessening of one’s participation in the Lord’s work followed by the compromising of moral convictions. Apathy towards sin leads to a tragic end. Carnal behavior fertilizes the soil for the next generation; and the prayers for crop failure often come too late. Nehemiah confronted the children who had lost their Hebrew heritage and language. The tongue lashing that he gave them was a cursing like that of a reviling, and not profanity. Perhaps this does not sound politically correct but neither did our Lord when He chased out the money changers from the temple with a leather whip. John the Baptist called the Pharisees a generation of vipers, and Elijah oversaw the execution of 450 Baal prophets. These men were giants in their day, and they were reformers not conformers. When the devil cannot achieve the upper hand with force, he will use craft. A son in-law of Sanballat had infiltrated the temple, that is, until Nehemiah chased him out of the city limits. Tradition says that the corrupt religion of the Samaritans started with the son in-law of Sanballat and his infamous father in-law. Eternal vigilance is the price for freedom. All that is needed for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing. The book of Malachi is a monument to what happens when a generation caves into worldly pressure. Malachi delineates the apostasy of Israel and her priesthood, and the Old Testament closes with four hundred years of Divine silence. But it certainly was not Nehemiah’s fault!! He fought and he never worried about popular opinion. Nehemiah was passionate but not political. Nehemiah feared the Lord not man. And Nehemiah lived for the smile of heaven, not the accolades of fickle fans.
“Remember them, O my God, because they have defiled the priesthood, and the covenant of the priesthood, and of the Levites.” “…remember me, O my God, for good.” Nehemiah 13:29 and 31
Such leaders will always be censored, misjudged, and discounted by little minds and faint hearts. History always reveals that the passion of great men like Nehemiah was entirely justified and the prudent toleration of others was pure cowardice.
